About the Role:

The Cultural Research Fellowship is designed for emerging researchers, historians, or anthropologists passionate about documenting intangible heritage — from oral traditions and local crafts to rituals and folk art. You'll contribute to Ancestra's Living Archives and Threads of Memory Initiative, conducting original field research and producing creative documentation.

Requirements:

  • Background in Anthropology, Ethnography, or Cultural Studies
  • Strong writing, research, and photography skills
  • Ability to work respectfully with diverse communities
  • Fluency in English (additional languages an asset)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interviews, collect oral histories, and document cultural practices
  • Collaborate with local communities and institutions
  • Contribute written and visual materials to Ancestra's digital archives
  • Present findings through a public report or exhibition piece
